The CrossPoint Food Pantry
The CrossPoint Food Pantry is a mission that started in a small pantry closet and has expanded to cover more than 1,000 square feet and serve more than 200 people every time they open their doors. Reaching out to the 17103, 17109, and 17111 zip codes, the Pantry has very quickly gained a reputation in the community as being a place where people are loved and respected for who they are and not what they have. Located in the basement of the Annex at our Rutherford Campus, the Pantry is open every 1st and 3rd Saturday from 1-3 pm. By working closely with the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank they provide important staples such as pasta, cereal, meats, and fresh produce! For our volunteers it’s a great opportunity to serve in a community ministry. If families want to work, there are plenty of jobs like doubling bags, carrying groceries to cars, restocking shelves, and associated with pantry patrons. Our volunteers in ministry have greatly expanded this mission outreach and thanks to the donations and contributions from our generous congregations, lives have been changed tremendously!
Our Hours of Service
Although we have volunteers stocking shelves and collecting food all the time, we are open for food pickup on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month from 1 pm to 3 pm. Also, if there is a 5th Saturday, we are open then too from 1 pm to 3 pm.
Our Location
The Pantry can be found in the basement of the Rutherford Campus Annex. The address is 6570 Mifflin Ave., Harrisburg, PA 17111 and there is a sign on the property to help you find us.

It’s August and summer’s bounty is upon us. Is your garden overflowing with tomatoes, cucumbers, and fruits? Let’s face it, there comes a point when your neighbors don’t want any more zucchini! The CrossPoint Food Panty welcomes your extra produce. Just drop it off around 12:45 PM on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Saturdays of the month. The Food Pantry is in the basement of the parsonage house in front of the Rutherford Church (6570 Mifflin Ave., Harrisburg, PA 17111). There is a white and green sign in the front yard.
The Food Pantry serves about 30 families who enjoy fresh produce in addition to all of the non-perishable food items we offer. Local gardens may be overflowing with abundance, but did you know that summer is when our shelves are the emptiest? With all of summer’s distractions, people often forget the hungry, but they are still here. Please consider donating a little extra money for the Food Pantry next week. Your funds go a long way—we can purchase food for 50%-90% off retail prices. And remember, the Food Pantry is 100% volunteer driven, so 100% of your donation will go to keep the Pantry running!
